If a good ukulele teacher is not available to you, a good ‘method book’ can help you get off and running on playing the ukulele.  There are many Ukulele Method Books to consider.  As a ‘librarian’ (technically, a Media Specialist) I take great pride in being able to select good books.  : )   On this page I will share my thoughts about method books, CDs, DVDs, etc.

Method Books

• I really like the Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. These books can be purchased ‘book only’ or ‘with the CD’.   Be sure you get the edition WITH the CDs.     There is a ’supplementary song book’, Easy Songs for Ukulele, that is great!    A DVD of Hal Leonard Uk ulele Method Book is listed on Amazon but I haven’t seen it.
• I did NOT like the Mel Bay First Lessons book with CD and DVD.

DVDs

• A  Hal Leonard Uk ulele Method Book DVD is listed on Amazon but I haven’t seen it.
